Jhaden Impeccable songwriting. Wonderfully insane energy. It's brutal, but colorful--a psychedelic that is terrifyingly beautiful. Perfectly spacious and progressive to let its meditation unfold and envelop, rending with claws of cosmic majesty. Lyrics are full of intrigue, befitting the band's name. Three songs, yet it feels like more--testifying to the depth of each track. This EP leaves me with an insatiable desire for more.

Who's got the control of the world? Who sows terror in the souls? Who has the power and supremacy? Who decides on us and our autonomy? The All-seeing Eye... is not the eye of a god. Inhuman architects of mental control Inseminate thoughts of lies and horror, To satisfy the illusions of ego, The reason succumbs before pathological low instincts. Wake your conscience up... reason of your existence. Lines of pure blood sealed in the name of the kings, Respect and unquestionable homage for the gentlemen, The royal knowledge is a privilege of the elite, The symbols are a secret code for the initiated. The All-seeing Eye The reason succumbs before the low instincts of foolishness, Throw the superstition up, blow the extermination out. ...is not the eye of a god, they say to be a race of chosen, taking in their blood... The sign, the eye of their god, Communing with flesh, offering sacrifices, Constructing religions that are the disguise of Paganism! "The only weapon they have against us, is keeping the knowledge of our true (real) nature away from us." -Esoteric Agenda (Documentary 2008)

I've been suspended in time, I walk these paths, Losing (...memories...) In the loneliness, of this affliction, Surrendering myself To non-space, Breaking the spiral... I emerge in pain, I'm the moonlight sight Mirrors of the past, deep image afar, A released ether, (nostalgic...) Deep in the woods, I am born... My flesh is hidden in silence, The fog of my essence is here, In the cold of this great forest... Kneel in front of me, infinite. I'm a warrior, I've defeated you. Trapped in this loop of horror Pathetic human deception I emerge in pain I'm the moonlight sight Mirrors of the past, Deep image afar, A released ether, (nostalgic...) Deep in the woods. I am born... Black Hole Antimatter My flesh is hidden in silence The fog of my essence is here, In the cold of this great forest... Kneel in front of me, infinite. There is no forgiveness. There is no redemption.

If your universe is abstracted into A series of disintegrated ideas, If your universe escapes from Dispersion encouraged by this mirage, Your stubbornness will be contemplated with Absolute normality. Perhaps... more than your half-hearted attempts... Might work. If you are focused into matter, you are prone To blind yourself by the virtual reality. Interpret frequencies as isolated circumstances. You can't understand that your concretion is limited to an Insignificant illusion, Each existing particle carries the image of what It is part of. You build your finite universe under the interaction of your Limited senses, with a reality of illusory tangible Appearances. Interpret frequencies as isolated circumstances. What if the invisible was interconnected? Could you understand your primary reality? Perhaps the sophistication of your mechanism is your Own prison. Perhaps more than your half-hearted attempts might work If you are focused into matter, you are prone To blind yourself by the virtual reality. Virtual

"Slowly but surely, the brutal/slam scene has been diversifying and keeping pace with the multitude of other micro-permutations within metal styles that keep sprouting up like mushrooms all over the globe. Recently, bands such as Defilementory and Disentomb have led the way in introducing a new approach to writing and thinking about music within this hard-hitting and noxious style of death metal, dragging it forward into the present. Count Mexico City-based The Abstract in this new class of brutal creators. Their recent self-titled EP shows a band already invested in cross-breeding their ruthless ferocity, sort of like Ulcerate-meets-dissonant-black-metal, with an occasional Origin sound as well. In the end, it comes across as uniquely its own, and very much worth paying attention to. As much as I’ve introduced this as a technical-leaning, brutal-minded act, it often bears a resemblance to the lofty aims and sounds of progressive death metal as well. The Abstract don’t just punish the flesh unto the brink of death, they also weaken the resolve of one’s soul. The Abstract is a feral effort paired with a fierce creativity. This is a bludgeoning you’ll be pleased you endured."

- Austin Weber, No Clean Singing

"In the last couple years it seems that the brutal death metal oriented spectrum of tech-death has really diversified and brought forth bands looking to bring something fresh to the sound like the latest Defilementory, Disentomb, and Repulsive Dissection (who I featured here recently) to name a few. For a sound that has seemed stale for awhile, this is a welcome development to my ears. With that being said, I'd like to introduce you to the Mexico based group The Abstract. Like the aforementioned groups, The Abstract have a lot going on beyond the typical brutal technical type sound. The music is structured very unconventionally for one, and also takes some influence from modern dissonant black metal and groups such as Ulcerate and Origin. If anything, The Abstract consists of highly experimental music, yet shows a group already more than capable of defining and owning a sound all their own. In just three songs totaling just over 20 minutes, The Abstract have become one of my favorite new groups who I expect to hear even greater music from in the future. Technical death metal needs more adventurous groups like The Abstract who seem set on breaking the mold of how bands of this ilk tend to sound."

- Austin Weber, Metal Injection

"At the moment the most promising brutal death metal band around and one of the few groups I can think of giving a fresh spin on the idea of dissodeath. Touches on similar ground as Disentomb and especially Defilementory but with even weirder and far more expansive, sprawling songwriting. This is like an avant-prog band that just got trapped in a BDM's one's body. An e-bow and synth guitar pop up on the EP with the last track having this nightmarishly hallucinatory ending. This is basically a very high tech brutal death metal band with a level of disturbingly eldritch atmosphere equivalent to Timeghoul or Univers Zero."
